The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is one of the most ecologically clean and attractive natural areas of Poland. The richness and uniqueness of the natural landscape forms, environmental excellence, historical value, and rural areas with preserved cultural landscape, provide excellent conditions for the development of tourism, especially family tourism and agritourism.
About 65% of the area has been subjected to the legal protection of wildlife, making it the first in the country. The rich vegetation, rare steppe, mountain and swamp plant communities, and the only position of halophytes in central Poland are undoubtedly the advantages, which not everyone can be proud of. What’s more, there are 40 areas in the Natura 2000 European Ecological Network which protects diverse species of plants and animals endangered with extinction across the continent. Nida Valley, among other places, is a special bird protection area. In contrast, the Świętokrzyskie Mountains are known for their unusual rock debris called stone runs.
